SCB-TO Goes Rouge
Pollinator Sampling Updates

This summer, members of the SCB-TO Executive and a dedicated group of volunteers have been out in the field collecting data on pollinator species in Rouge Park. We have just completed our 5th monitoring session, and with 2 more to go, we are on the home stretch in terms of field work. As the summer moves along we have observed a change in the flowering plant species, which is likely to be reflected in the pollinator species that we have been trapping. That story will unfold as we analyse the data after sorting and pinning the specimens. Our field sampling sessions are marked by sunny days as the pollinators are fair weather species – lucky us! If you are interested in volunteering either in the field or in some of our upcoming lab days where we will sorting and pinning the specimens, drop us a line. In the meantime, check out images from the field and pinning sessions by clicking here.
