Join us for an informal discussion of Ellison’s 2016 paper, “It’s time to get real about conservation” and the response letter “Conservation: smart advocacy needs data” by McCauley, Joyce and Lubchenco. In a time of significant environmental change, should the ecology community focus on data collection, or political involvement?
This will be the second in a series of journal club meetings organized by the Toronto Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB-TO). All are welcome, including graduate students, undergraduates, conservation professionals, and members of the public.
February 23rd 6:00 – 7:00pm: Article discussion at Harvest Noon (16 Bancroft Ave), with casual discussion and socializing at the GSU pub to follow. To attend, please RSVP on our eventbrite page: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/conservation-conversations-scb-toronto-journal-club-february-2017-tickets-31663113224?ref=estw
