We are looking for new SCB-Toronto board members!

The Toronto chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology is looking for new board members!
At SCB-Toronto, we facilitate discussions and solutions to urban conservation biology issues that threaten the function of Toronto’s local ecosystems. This includes land use transformation, reduction of biological diversity, loss of native species, among other relevant issues.

We have some exciting upcoming summer events which we require assistance running including:
– North American Congress for Conservation Biology 2018 (https://scbnorthamerica.org/index.php/naccb2018/)
– Toronto shoreline litter cleanup
– “Conservation conversations”: Our academic conservation journal club
… and more!
For a list of past SCB-Toronto events, see: https://scbtoronto.com/chapter-events/previous-events/
As a member of SCB-Toronto you will also be a member of SCB. Some benefits include:

– Subscription to the academic journal Conservation Biology
– Discounted rates for all SCB conferences
– Have your work featured on the SCB-Toronto home page
– Networking opportunities with other Toronto based conservation organizations

If you’re interested in joining us, please send us an email expressing your interest and a little bit about you to: scbtoronto@gmail.com. Please note that this is a volunteer position (all of our board members are volunteers).

We look forward to hearing from you!
